Julie Katske
Hi all! I’m Julie. Originally from Los Angeles, I did my undergraduate degree at Cornell University studying Human Development-Developmental Behavioral Neuroscience.
I returned to Los Angeles and, like many others, started working in media, eventually becoming a manager in the pop music sphere. In the same period I got a degree in visual communication from The Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising and started my Music Business Certification at the University of California, Los Angeles.
My work took me to London, Berlin, and Seoul and opened my eyes to Top-40s music as a global industry. EIMAS is giving me the opportunity to better educate myself and move forward when it comes to working with songwriters and artists from Africa, and my focus is on Contemporary African artists and the economic impacts of African top-liners accessibility in Western markets.
I believe in speaking in the vernacular, and when I talk, you will hear the characteristic vocal fry and uptalk of a hometown that I cherish dearly.
Key interests: investments, international relations, popular music, media, contemporary art, popular culture, international cooperation, gender issues
