Laura holds a bachelor's degree in International Cultural and Business Studies from the University of Passau and a master´s degree in Interdisciplinary African Studies from the Universities of Bayreuth, Porto and Bordeaux-Montaigne. Her regional focus on Africa was first inspired by spending eight years of her childhood in South Africa and later studying at Stellenbosch University for a semester during her bachelor studies. Currently, she is a project manager with 2,5+ years of experience in managing complex development cooperation projects in Africa and Eastern Europe, focussing on private sector innovation. First having gained experience at the official German development cooperation organization GIZ, she is now working at the Berlin-based nonprofit enpact, where she implements entrepreneurship and startup support programmes for a just transition and European integration of Ukraine. At the same time, she is active as a short-term consultant for the World Bank’s Gender Department, and she is in the process of publishing a co-authored paper on climate activism in Uganda, based on her master’s thesis.
